Oral Interpretation Courses

Oral Interpretation I, II, III

Oral Interpretation is both a class and an extracurricular activity, with opportunities and responsibilities both in and out of the classroom. The focus of this program is on competitive speaking and performance. Students will work on both performance skills (individual and partner acting) and public speaking. Events that students will participate in include Dramatic Interpretation, Humorous Interpretation, Duo Interpretation, Duet Acting, Prose, Poetry, Program of Oral Interpretation, Original Oratory, and Informative Speaking. Students will be part of a nationally recognized team that has the opportunity to compete in multiple leagues and tournaments throughout the school year. Students will enroll in the course corresponding to their level of experience in the program.

Students who complete all of Oral Interpretation I, II, and III, will also receive credit for English IV, making that class optional during their senior year.

Independent Study Speech Honors IV

This is the fourth level of Oral Interpretation and is limited to fourth-year seniors in the program.
